JACCC principal update

August 30, 2024

Dear JA Coal Creek Canyon Families,

Here is your weekly principal update. These are now posted on the website if you ever need to refer to it at a later date.

Drop-Off and Free Breakfast:

Students not wanting to enjoy free breakfast can be dropped off as early as 8:15 am and go straight to the playground. Please make sure students are not released from your car until this time. For safety reasons we never want students to be left unattended on the playground. We are also  a small staff and want to respect all  teachers' morning prep time so they can give their best to the students from the minute they walk through the door.

If your child wants free breakfast they are welcome to enter the building at 8:10am and go directly to the cafeteria. Breakfast service will be offered daily from 8:10am-8:25am.  Students will be asked to finish their breakfast by 8:28am and will be directed to their homeroom.  To avoid having little critters in classrooms students will not be allowed to finish breakfast in their classroom. Homeschoolers are also eligible for free breakfast AND lunch on Mondays, like all students. Please make sure that if your child wants breakfast, they are here as close to 8:10 as possible so they have plenty of time to eat.

Volunteer Opportunities: (If interested in volunteering contact the office)

  • Flexible volunteers who are willing to float between larger number classes on Super Monday.

  • Morning playground duty, cafeteria and afternoon parking lot duty.

Back to School BBQ:

Band

We are still gathering interest to see if we can offer a band program. Please respond as soon as possible so we can give families more information about whether we can move forward with this exciting venture.

Website Update:

This website is your go-to source for current information, we're busy behind the scenes adding information to enhance the website experience. Please forgive any incomplete information shown, as we are still a work in progress.

Clinic Needs

We are in need of a few things for our clinic.

  • Used clothing (underwear/bottoms for boys 4-10 size range, we have plenty for girls)

  • 1 exercise ball for students to sit on we only need one so please check to see if it has been donated before bringing one in.

  • Plastic grocery bags

If anyone is interested in donating any of these items they can be dropped off in the office.
