Does JA CCC offer Pre-K?
Yes! We offer pre-k 4.

Who is eligible for Pre-K at JA CCC?
Our Pre-K program is specifically designed for children who will be 4 years old by October 1 of the school year in which they are enrolling.

Is there a fee for Pre-K?
Yes. Our Pre-K program does have a tuition fee; however, families may be able to save a significant amount through Colorado’s Universal Preschool (UPK) program. We highly encourage eligible families to apply for UPK funding, as it can substantially reduce the cost of Pre-K.

Can I customize my child's Pre-K schedule?
Yes! Our Pre-K program is customizable to fit your family's needs. Full Day and Half day options are both available. Families can choose from the available Pre-K schedule options based on what works best for their child and family.

Kindergarten

Does JA CCC offer half-day Kindergarten?
No. We do not offer a half-day Kindergarten program. Kindergarten at JA CCC is a full-day program and follows the regular school day.

Does my child have to attend Pre-K at JA CCC before entering Kindergarten?
No. Children do not have to attend our Pre-K program to enroll in Kindergarten. We welcome students from a variety of early childhood programs and experiences.

Does Kindergarten start at the same time as the other grades?
Yes. Kindergarten follows the same times as the rest of the school 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Does Kindergarten have a tuition fee? 
No.

Snacks and Water bottles

Does my child need to bring a snack?
Yes, snacks are recommended. Snack routines vary by grade level and classroom.

What should I pack for snack?
Choose a nutritious, easy-to-eat snack that your child can manage independently and that does not require refrigeration or heating.

Does my child need to bring a water bottle to school?
Yes! Water bottles are an important part of your child’s daily school supplies. Our school does not have traditional drinking fountains. Instead, we have filtered water bottle filling stations throughout the school. Students should bring a filled, reusable water bottle to school each day so they have easy access to water throughout the day.

Can my child refill their water bottle at school?
Absolutely! Students can refill their bottles at our filtered water bottle filling stations as needed throughout the school day.

What kind of water bottle should my child bring?
We recommend a reusable, leak-resistant water bottle that your child can easily open, carry, and refill independently. Please label your child's bottle with their name.

Communication

How will I find out about special programs such as field trips and assemblies?
Communications will be provided through the weekly newsletter sent on Monday's, social media such as Facebook and your classroom teacher.

General Food Service

What is changing with school meals this year?
Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, Jefferson Academy Coal Creek Canyon is partnering with SLA and Charter Choice Collaborative (CCC) to provide breakfast and lunch to our students.

Who provides our school meals?
SLA is our meal service provider, working with Charter Choice Collaborative (CCC), our School Food Authority (SFA). Together, they manage our breakfast and lunch program.

Are school meals free?
Yes! Through the Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA) program, breakfast and lunch are available at no cost to all students.

Does my family still need to complete a meal benefits form?
Yes. Even though meals are provided at no cost, families are encouraged to complete the Charter Choice Combination Form. Information collected through this form helps determine eligibility for additional benefits and can help provide funding for classroom and school programs.

Where do I complete the meal benefits form?
Families can complete the Charter Choice Combination Form through the Charter Choice system. The form is important even if your child does not need free or reduced-price meals because the information may help our school qualify for additional funding and student benefits.

Transportation | Busing

Is there busing to and from JA CCC?

No, because we are a charter school (choice enrollment), busing is not offered. If students are enrolled in a private before & after school program, they may offer transportation. Please check with your individual program.

Super Monday Homeschool Enrichment FAQs

Does JA CCC offer a homeschool enrichment program?
Yes! JA CCC offers "Super Monday", a homeschool enrichment program designed specifically for homeschool students. Super Monday gives homeschool students the opportunity to spend one day each week learning, creating, exploring, and building community alongside our full-time students.

What is Super Monday?
Super Monday is our home-based enrichment program for homeschool students. Students attend school on Mondays and participate in a variety of classes and enrichment experiences throughout the day.

Who can participate in Super Monday?
Super Monday is available to eligible homeschool students who want to participate in a school-based enrichment experience one day each week. Enrollment is subject to program availability and grade-level offerings.

Is there a cost to participate in Super Monday?
For students who are enrolled with JA CCC as their primary home-based enrichment program, there is no additional tuition fee for Super Monday.

If Super Monday is your child's secondary home-based enrichment program and your child is enrolled in another enrichment or home-based program as their primary program, Super Monday would be tuition-based.
